After our lengthy stay in Bucharest we were itching to get back on the road and on our way to Austria via Hungary. We picked up our vehicle, a Mitsubishi Pajero with tinted windows and a few loose fittings, and left Pro to his most favourite thing in the world – packing a car with loads of gear. The first rider on the bike was the ‘Hero Rider’ for this leg; a Romanian motorcycle journalist called Marius. He was such a friendly and patient guy, letting us direct him and get all the shots we needed. He was also an excellent interviewee. We flew through most of Romania trying our best to take in the the scenery through a lens. Through Transylvania the pace slowed enough for us to meet some really friendly Romanian people who, despite what the BBC news likes to tell us, were hospitable, welcoming and made our journey through their country a real joy.
